Type the important words:  tricolor rat terrier
Put exact words in quotes:  "rat terrier"
Type OR between all the words you want:  miniature OR standard

Questions to ask when evaluating websites

Questions to ask yourself:
 

  • Who are the authors, or who is responsible?  Is there a publisher or corporate/organizational author?
  • Is there an "About Us" page?  
  • Is there an e-mail address or other contact info?
  • What gives them their authority or expertise? Was it written or posted by a student?
  • When was the information on the page originally written?
  • Is there a copyright date?
  • Has the site been kept up-to-date?
  • Are there dead links?
  • Do you have good reason to believe that the information on the site is accurate?
  • Is the information basic or detailed?
  • Are the facts documented?
  • Are there links to additional resources?
  • Are there works cited?
  • Is your topic being addressed?
  • Was the page worth visiting? Was it useful to my topic or project?
  • Does the site offer anything informative, substantial, or insightful?  
  • Is the site free of spelling and grammatical errors?
  • Are there ads?
  • Is it easy to navigate?
